Introduction Session

Host :
Hello Mr @icpossibilities welcome to the Bang Pateng community, It’s an honor to invite you to our community

Ian Campbell :
Hello All 🙂

Host :
Before we start our first session can you introduce yourself, your background and your team if you have a team working with you on SUKU @icpossibilities

Ian Campbell :
Hi All! Glad to be here everyone! My name is Ian and I do product management and business development here at SUKU, mainly for our decentralized finance protocol, SUKU DeFi.

I have been a crypto hobbyist for about 4 years, and a professional in the space for a little over 6 months now. Overall, the endless possibilities with crypto and blockchain really excite me 🙂

Host :
Thanks for sharing your background. Good. AMA let’s get started.

Well we will continue to the first session, in this session I will give a question about SUKU, if you feel you have enough to give an answer, you can say “done”.

Ian Campbell :
Sounds good!! Lets go 😎

SESI 1 (Poject Introduction)

Q1. Can you introduce SUKU to our community?

Ian Campbell :
To give everyone a brief background on SUKU, we were founded in 2016 by a team of diverse entrepreneurs. Many of the core team, including our CEO and CTO came from Deloitte’s blockchain lab.

Our mission was focused around bringing together consumers, brands and supply chain participants in one ecosystem. With consumers increasingly concerned about where products come from, the meaning of responsible business is shifting, demanding companies to be more transparent, source more ethically & sustainably, and include customers in giving back.

SUKU helps brands better share their sustainability and social efforts with conscious customers by leveraging blockchain technology and easy-to-use mobile applications. Our OMNI platform takes supply chain data provided by the brands and presents it to customers in a way that is easily digestible, accessible and fun to engage with. Additionally, brands can benefit from analytics and insights into their supply chain, carbon footprint, and more.

At the core, “SUKU” represents our mission to connect suppliers and customers through the use of blockchain, hence SUKU is a bit of a play on words. The “SU” represents “suppliers” and the “KU” represents “customers.”

Q2. What are the core features of SUKU? How are you different and unique from all other projects out there?

Ian Campbell :
Our suite of SUKU products takes a holistic approach to supply chains by providing solutions from SUppliers to KUstomers. We also like to think that our team and solutions stand out in many ways!

Just a few of the many which stand out are:

  1. There are other projects in the industry tackling supply chain, but none of them have the approach we have of making supply chain data usable by brand’s to differentiate their products and sell more products. As a result of our unique go-to-market approach, we are working with both small and large clients.
  2. We are natively incorporating open financial tools into our platform to help increase DeFi adoption in a way that fits the group of customers, brands and supply chain participants who are already benefiting from our Omni solution.
  3. Our solutions cater to both the suppliers and the consumers.
  4. Our team comes with expertise in the blockchain and financial industries, as much of the team comes from Deloitte’s Blockchain Lab.

Q3. Nowadays Farming or staking is very popular. Have you provided your Farming or Staking Facility to $SUKU Investors? if you have, can you explain how to staking and farming $SUKU?

Ian Campbell :
I agree that those phrases are popular at the moment. As I have mentioned, we are close to checking the first major priority this year by releasing the SUKU DeFi protocol on mainnet. This has taken much of our focus and I am really pleased with the progress we have made as a team.

If you guys have time after this AMA – head over to www.suku.world/defi and we have all the details.

Q4. Could you please explain, what are your upcoming plans in a couple of month/years?

Ian Campbell :
Business development is a major focus for both our short-term and longer-term visions. We have many exciting brands and opportunities in our pipeline and many already engaged in pilot stages. We’re going to continue driving those leads and explore various other opportunities; we can’t wait to share them with everyone!

SESI 2 (Twitter Question)

Ian Campbell :
SUKU’s mission is to bring together consumers, brands, and supply chain participants in a single, transparent ecosystem.

SUKU DeFi leverages decentralized finance protocols to provide microfinance opportunities to traditionally disenfranchised supply chain participants such as farmers, manufacturers, and distributors. We believe that our decentralized finance platform differs from others with its mission and target audience: brands, institutions and individuals who want to improve the lives of supply chain participants.

Ian Campbell :
Through SUKU DeFi and the SUKU Ecosystem, we are bridging the gap and bringing real users to the DeFi space.

We want to expand the reach of SUKU DeFi through network partners, which may include the following:

A). coop organizations
B). social impact funds
C). Individuals

We have the goal of bringing in the individuals that have been left out of the traditional finance equation. Small, underserved, unbanked supply chain participants. These individuals have unsteady revenue streams, living off less than $1,168 a year. They may have little to no access to capital and have native currencies which are unstable. In the end, many of them struggle to provide for their families

Ian Campbell :
Security is a major consideration and utmost priority when it comes to SUKU DeFi. We’ve seen too many security exploits in the industry.

As such, we have forked and repurposed the previously audited Compound finance protocol and corresponding smart contracts. If you are not aware, Compound is one of the premier and most secure projects in the space. Using this secured foundation as the starting point for SUKU DeFi gives us confidence in the integrity of our solution.

Ian Campbell :
We can all agree that the blockchain industry continues to evolve. SUKU DeFi is a great example as it goes against the grain of other solutions by enabling users with only basic access to a cell phone to interact with the protocol.

Through SUKU’s TextMeCrypto, we can enable the seemingly complex supply, borrow, and other capabilities of DeFi via SMS messaging. Get the full scoop on how it works here: https://medium.com/sukuecosystem/releasing-textmecrypto-by-suku-18114b61e8d8

Ian Campbell :
Building a strong community is the heart and soul of any blockchain project. In addition to what I just mentioned, we already have many loyal SUKU Squad members and are always looking for creative ways of building our base.

One of those ways is through our Brand Ambassador program. We want to find a group of blockchain enthusiasts to engage, educate and empower the future generation of people interested in SUKU. This could be you!! We will be able to offer some perks for your time and efforts of course. Why not check out the link : www.suku.world/ambassadors

With the constant threat of attackers what security precautions are you taking when providing data to third parties?

Do you have any specific marketing strategies to increase your adoption? Do you have plan to establish Indonesian Community or Asian Community to expand globally because for your information Indonesian are always attracted in a new and making a progress project?

Great questions! As a global company we have a global focus, and all our products can be accessed from anywhere in the world. Specifically for DeFi we are focusing on building partnerships all across the globe as there are many individuals that do not have access to traditional financial infrastructure. Indonesia and Asia in general are definitely on our radar as they tend to have a higher adoption of cryptocurrencies compared to many other countries. To enter into the market, we are building partnerships with coop organizations and other entities that can help us access these unbanked individuals that can reap the greatest benefits from decentralized finance.

If you know of any good organizations to partner with please reach out to me directly!!

Adoption & Awareness about Platform is very important for any Creator as well as Users! So, What are your plans to attract More users as well as Creators with Non-crypto users too ?

Ian Campbell :
We take a product first focus at SUKU. Meaning, we want to break down barriers to adoption and build products that are accessible by our users. The first example of this is TextMeCrypto (which I mentioned earlier).

As we move into more areas, like Indonesia and Asia for example, we will be looking for feedback on the best way to get microloans into the hands of the unbanked.

If you have ideas or leads please reach out to me directly. We are seeking feedback!!

Ian Cambell :
Another great question.

2020 will undoubtedly be remembered as the year of COVID-19. For SUKU, it was a year highlighted by the strength of the team and the vision and organization toward building our brand.

At the beginning of the year we sent out an End of 2020 Letter to the Community. It would be a great time for you to visit our website and read it.

Ian Campbell :
We are extremely intentional and selective when choosing partners. Our partners rang from technology providers to Fortune 500 retailers and prestigious universities.

A few of our notable partnerships include:

Avery Dennison & Smartrac: Our relationship with AD touches nearly every product we offer. They are our principal supplier of NFC tags for OMNI and INFINITE, but the relationship goes well-beyond that. For instance, we co-created a COVID-19 PPE authenticity solution with an NFC-powered platform that enables instant verification of authenticity and provides end-to-end supply chain transparency.

Cencosud: Cencosud is the third largest retailer in Latin America and a key partner in the ongoing development and enhancement of our OMNI platform.

Duke University: We co-founded a blockchain lab to help undergraduate and graduate students find careers in the blockchain space and the University provides four students from it’s prestigious MBA program to conduct a business case for us during Spring semesters.
